The Prestwick Group

The Prestwick Group was founded in 2002 to focus on the needs of small and mid-sized businesses and their owners.  The firm began providing peer advisory and coaching services in 2002 in affiliation with The Alternative Board (TAB), as well as people assessment and development services.  The Prestwick Group developed a proprietary job benchmarking and recruiting process in 2007, and added implementation services for the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) in 2010.  The firm’s offices are near O’Hare airport in Des Plaines, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.

Paul Detlefs

Paul Detlefs has spent nearly his entire 35-year career advising small and mid-sized businesses and their owners, working with over 200 companies over that time. He spent 24 years at Andersen Consulting/Accenture, where he was Managing Partner of the Chicago-based Middle Markets group, and expanded it to six other Midwest locations. He was also responsible for a software line of business and led projects at several large companies, including Caterpillar and Whirlpool. He worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, construction, and professional services. He led projects in business systems design and implementation, business process improvement, and supply chain management, including implementation of lean concepts on the factory floor. In 2002, he founded The Prestwick Group, a consulting and advisory firm focused on small and mid-sized businesses and their owners.

Paul is an honors graduate of DePauw University and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds additional certifications in Production/Inventory Management (CFPIM), Behavioral Analysis (CPBA), Values Analysis (CPVA), TriMetrix HD (CPHDA) and Guerrilla Marketing (GMC). He is also a Professional Implementer of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
